Topshop and Adidas Originals have teamed up to create an exclusive seven-piece capsule collection. The collaboration sees the high-street giant rework classic pieces from the sportswear brand, with the ever-popular Superstar jacket and trainers taking trophy status.
It’s not the first time that the two have collaborated – they enjoyed a successful union last year too. Currently in the midst of copyright battles with Isabel Marant and Marc by Marc Jacobs, Adidas has a lot on its plate, but it’s not letting any of its legal issues sour its enthusiasm.
“Our capsule with Topshop is the perfect partnership, as it allows us to explore a contemporary fashion aesthetic while paying homage to our iconic sportswear roots,” said Josefine Aberg, design director of Adidas Originals.
Topshop’s creative director – and Vogue contributing fashion editor – Kate Phelan concurred, saying: “Our love of fashion and sportswear comes to life in this capsule collection. Sportstyle classics with bold graphic numbers are the superstar looks this season.”
