Taylor Tomasi Hill has a talent for crafting outfit combinations that are a magnet for street style photographers and have an eternal after-life on Pinterest. Whether it’s a floral blouse tucked into oversized blue Comme Des Garçons shorts or a feminine dress topped with a cropped Balenciaga jacket, her sharp eye—for prints, colors, and shapes—never fails to get it right. In October, the fashion world was shocked to hear that Tomasi Hill had left her post as creative director at luxury e-retailer Moda Operandi.
Where would the fiery-haired beauty go next?
She took a moment to breath, open her eyes, and smell the roses. Literally, soul searching led her to styling flowers rather than clothes so then came budding business @TTHBlooms.
“After I left Moda, I started meeting with people, and as a thank you I would make miniature floral arrangements for a more personal touch, all of a sudden, I hear that Honor Brodie [the creative director at Tory Burch] and others were passing on my information, and I was getting requests for my blooms. It’s something I love and I found it quite therapeutic.”
Tomasi Hill is planning to keep her operation small-scale for now, focusing on a handful of repeat clients each month and providing florals for events.
Personally I love everything about these miniature blooms. Cute jam jars, brown tied paper and string and some amazing single stems all mushed together in some arty/beautiful way. Totally up my street.
