Jenny Packham can do no wrong. There is something about those modern vintage, floor sweeping, delicately sparkling and always-elegant signature styles that makes me go weak at the knees. Whether it’s the stylish elegance, soft romantic layers, or the fact that they are so darn pretty, the Jenny Packham latest offering for Spring-Summer 2014 is no exception.
The runway was transformed into a tree lined boulevard at dusk for this collection – setting the scene for an array of romantically soft, feminine designs to glide along the catwalk. The sheer layers, just-right embellishments and the smidgen of raciness in her designs played homage to an Edwardian inspiration, whilst romantically voluminous ballerina skirts, graceful tulle sleeves and elegantly exposed backs brought to mind a very modern bride, evoking scenes of a chic European destination wedding.
I recognise several of Jenny’s best selling silhouettes in this collection, but it’s fantastic to see so many new designs. I particularly love the intricate light beading, the pale gold tulle and delicate embellishment – it oozes Jenny’s signature romantic and feminine appeal.
