Bit slow on the uptake with this one, but Fred Perry and Amy Winehouse have released their second collaboration collection. Their first attempt, launched last October, was pretty well recieved. With all of Winehouses wacky ways, she does always look pretty cool falling out of clubs and shouting at photographers. Unlike other singer/songwriters she has her own unique look and style.
According to Fred Perry, much of the range is apparently ‘a tiki re-working’ of Fred Perry classics, including the Harrington and the twin-tipped polo shirt. But with the collection now double its original size (32 pieces), there is also now room for bags, shoes and accessories plus a few new clothing designs.
Using her unique style and fashion edge, Amy Winehouse brings bold new colors and striking gingham checks to this collection. Raising temperatures with halter-neck dresses, tie-up bowling shirts, and slim cut jackets, the collection pops with color and showcases Amy’s iconic 50s flair. My stand-out piece has to be the Body Con dress and a super cute Gingham Playsuit.
“Amy has been wearing Fred Perry for years, so we were aware she was a genuine fan of the brand,” said Richard Martin, Fred Perry’s marketing director. “Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand’s own historical reference points.”
